When a fall occurs, the sudden stop caused by the fall arrest system submits the human body to a high impact force (the longer the free fall, the higher the force). The purpose of the shock device is to lower the shock loading on the body by dissipating kinetic energy & limiting deceleration forces during fall arrest. In the event of a fall, the pack expands 3-1/2 feet to reduce fall forces while a back-up safety strap deploys for added fall protection. Includes a double locking snap on each end.
